What if I’m not sure how many hours we need?
That is normal. Once I know your timeline, venue and priorities, I will recommend what makes sense. Six hours covers getting ready through the first part of the reception; eight covers the full arc.
What is the difference between a collection and the Wedding Weekend Experience?
Collections are wedding day starting points, in photography or photography and film. The Wedding Weekend Experience is designed around larger or multi-day celebrations, with photography, film and the creative team placed where they add something meaningful.
Do you offer a content creator?
Yes, and it is one of the most requested additions. A content creator works alongside the photography and film team capturing short-form, phone-shot video and behind-the-scenes moments, delivered within days so you can share the celebration while it is still fresh. It is $1,500 USD and can be added to any collection or to the Wedding Weekend Experience.
Can we add another event later?
Yes. Welcome events, after-parties and additional coverage can be added as the weekend takes shape. If it grows into more than one day, I will suggest approaching it as a Wedding Weekend Experience.
Do you travel?
Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum are home, with a small flat transportation fee by zone. For Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, the rest of Mexico or abroad, travel is quoted separately and I am glad to go.
What about the venue’s outside vendor fee?
Most resorts charge an outside vendor fee or require a day pass for external photographers. The resort sets it and charges it, not me, and they change it often, so treat any figure you find, including the ones in my venue guides, as an approximate reference. Ask your wedding coordinator at the hotel to confirm the amount for your date in writing, and ask whether there is any flexibility: some hotels waive or reduce it. Once it is settled, I handle the logistics with your planner.
How do we book?
A signed agreement and a 30% retainer (plus tax) hold your date exclusively; the balance is due on the wedding day. Popular dates, November through February, book 12 to 18 months out.
What if we need to move or cancel the date?
The retainer is non-refundable because I turn away other weddings for your date. If you need to move it, tell me as early as you can: if the new date is open I move everything with you.
When do we get our photos?
Your full high-resolution gallery is delivered digitally, with final retouched images within about 45 business days after you make your proof selections. The sooner you pick, the sooner retouching starts.
What happens if it rains?
Rain moves the ceremony, it does not cancel the photographs. Resorts here have covered alternatives and your planner will have a plan B. I work with it, and some of the best frames come from the light right after a storm.
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Cancun or Tulum?
Experienced destination wedding photographers in Riviera Maya generally range from $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day, and considerably more for multi-day celebrations with film. My collections sit within that range; the Wedding Weekend Experience is designed around the celebration.
